Articles of Agreement

Entered into this First of September 1867 between Hiram Clark Sub Asst Com Bureau R.F. & A.L. 16 Sub-Dist. of Texas at Clinton, Texas, and his successors and in Office, of the one part, for and on behalf of the United States of America and Tsidor Locherer, Carpenter of the town of Victoria, and the County of Victoria, of the State of Texas, on the other part, for and on behalf of himself, his executors, administrators, and assigns, Witnesseth:

That the said Hiram Clark for and on behalf of the United States of America, as said, and the said Tsidor Locherer, for himself, his executors, administrators and assigns, as said have mutually agreed, and by these presents mutually covenant and agree to, and with each other, as follows:

I. That, the said Tsidor Locherer, shall put the House at Victoria, occupied as a Schoolhouse for Freedmen, in a thorough state of Repair, and adapt it for the purpose of a Freedmens School, and manufacture fifteen Benches, with backs each 12' long, three double formed desks each 12' long, one teachers desk, one blackboard 3' by 5 with moveable frame.

II. That the said Tsidor Locherer, shall complete the said repairs, on or before the 20. of September 1867
