Articles of Agreement

Entered into this twenty-fifth day of February 1868, between Byron Porter Sub Assistant Commissioner Bureau of R.F. and A.L. 22d Sub District of Texas. at Bastrop, Texas, and his successors in office, of the one part, for and on behalf of the United States of America, and J.J. Hamilton carpenter of the town of Bastrop and the County of Bastrop, of the State of Texas, on the other part, for and on behalf of himself his executors administrators and assigns:

Witnesseth:
That the said Byron Porter for and on behalf of the United States of America as said, and the said J.J. Hamilton for himself, his executors administrators and assigns as said have mutually agreed, and by the presents mutually covenant and agree to and with each other as follows:

I. That the said J.J. Hamilton shall repair the building erected as a Freedmen's School House at Bastrop, and manufacture and put in the articles described in the annexed specifications viz: 

Six windows, -Six Shutters. -Twenty-six benches with backs.-One double door and Ten hundred and fifty-six ft. of flooring.

II. That the said J.J. Hamilton shall complete the said repairs manufacture and put in the specified articles in a reasonable time.
