III. That the said J.J. Hamilton shall receive for said services the sum of five hundred and seventy-five dollars and five cents by Vouchers for that amount, to be certified by the said Byron Porter or his successors in office, payable to the Disbursing Officer of the Bureau of R.F. and A.L. State of Texas. 

IV. That no member of Congress nor any officer or agent of the United States shall be admitted to any interest or share in this contract or the results to arise therefrom.
 
In witness thereof the said parties set their hands and seals at Bastrop, Texas this twenty-fifth day of February 1868
