Ceiling.    The joists for the ceiling of the upper story to be 2x6 inches, and laid 24 inches apart, secured with three (3) iron anchors in each side wall, same as before described, and framed into a centre girder 8x10 inches supported by two (2) neat iron columns five (5) inches in diameter:  to have one row of cross bridging on each side.  Ceiling to be of one (1) inch dressed white pine, of a uniform width of Twelve (12) inches, with the joist broken with strips of four (4) inches in width, to be always jointed at the ends of the lumber on a joist above, and not between joints.

Window Frames.     to be placed in the wall, Three (3) feet above the floors; to be Box frames with 1 1/4 inch pulley stiles.  3/4 in outside and inside casing: 1 3/4 x 1 1/4 inch hanging stiles; 1 1/2 inch rabbeted sills; 1 3/4 inch iron best quality frame pulleys two (2) pulleys to each frame.  
Half circle window three (3) feet Windells in front and near gables, as shown in plan. Thirty-two (32) windows as in plan. The sash in gable windows to be moveable for ventilation when needed.
