Specifications of a School House to be erected at Waco, McLennan Co.,

House

To be built of brick.
To 35 x 60 feet outside measurement.
One Story in Height.

Foundation

To be of 3 brick at the base - 18 inches below the surface of the ground to rack off to 12 inches at the bottom of floor joists. Every other course to be headers. All joints in foundation to be pushed, others to be full and neatly stuck on outside of building.

Mortar

The mortar to be 1/4 cement and 3/4 lime in foundation; above foundation enough cement to give a good bond.

Brick

All brick used in construction of the building to be hard burnt and well wet before they are laid.

Walls

To be 12 inches thick. Plastered inside brown finish — smoothly dressed.

To be 14 feet in clear — between floor and ceiling. The floor to be 24 inches above the surface of the earth resting upon centre wall
