Shingles _ laid five inches to the weather. The roof to be secured by wall plates anchored with 14 anchors, running 3 feet in the wall. Rafters thoroughly spiked to joists. The roof to project 18 inches over the wall. Rafters 2x6. King posts 2x6. Collar Beams 2x6. King Posts and Collar Beams spiked to rafters and upper joists. Rafter 2 feet apart from centre. Pitch 1/4. All anchors 5/8 inch.

Flues 

The building to have two flues - one on each [[strikethrough]]end[[/strikethrough]] side between 2d & 3d windows to be carried up to proper distance above the wall.

Ventilation 

The building to have 14 small openings in foundation to allow circulation of fresh air under the house. The gables to have two round wooden ventilators.

Floors 

To be of best quality yellow pine (6 inch) dressed tongued and grooved and secret-nailed. Floor joists 2x10 cedar or yellow pine. Two rows cross bridging. Five upper and lower joists to be anchored into wall by 3 feet anchors and bolted together in centre with [[strikethrough]]on centre[[/strikethrough]] 3 feet iron straps the remaining joists to be securely fastened in centre.
