The State of Texas, County of Bexar. City of San Antonio.

Know all men by these presents that the following contract and agreement has been entered into between the board of Education, through its president, Wm. C. A. Mielepape, party of the first part and I. H. Kampmann of this city, party of the second part, to wit:

Whereas said I. H. Kampmann, party of the second part, has bid the following prices in U.S. Currency for labor and material of the mason work, required in the construction of a public school house to be erected in this city at the North west corner of Rincon and Convent street for the education of colored children according to the plan and specifications approved by the Board of Education on Monday Oct. 3, 1870., and in compliance with publication in the Daily San Antonio Express, in regard to proposals to be received for said work, to wit:-

1 For digging out the ground for the foundation and removing the same to a distance not exceeding 100 steps, 2 1/2 cents per cubic foot.
