that the steps in front of the outside doors and the floor of the stair-case in the first story shall not be made of rock, but of lumber, and shall not be included in the contract. All the mason work shall be made according to plan and the following specifications, to wit: 

The building shall be of two stories containing 2 school rooms in each story of 29 x 24 feet each room, to seat 50 pupils therein, and a stair case of 12 x 24 feet. Height of ceiling 13 ft, 3 inches.

Foundation:
The foundation walls shall be of the following dimensions to wit: -
The front and back walls shall be each 77 feet long; the front wall shall be 2 feet 1 inch and the back wall 2 feet thick; the 2 partition walls shall be each 24 feet long and 1 foot 9 in. thick.

All the aforesaid walls shall be four feet above the surface of the ground and as much below as to reach a solid ground to build on
