Concerning building of School houses.

Victoria. Texas. July 31st 1866.
I have bought a lot which is paid for, and expect to raise money enough to commence building a church and school house for Freedmen, which I expect will be finished by the 1st of October.

Columbia. Texas. Jan 17th 1867.
A site for a building for church and school purposes for freed people has been procured, owned by a Freedman. He agrees to let the freed people have the lot for four years free, or until they can purchase one and put up a building themselves.
The freedpeople are desirous of building, and wish to know if the Bureau will provide the material gratis; a building 25 by 40 feet will be required.

Lavaca. Texas. Jan 21st 1867.
The lot is purchased and paid for; they have 2000 feet of old lumber which can be used; the lowest estimate to complete the building is $800.00. The Freedmen think they will be able to contribute $200.00, and agree to build on a smaller scale if the Bureau will not assist. Deed of lot received.
