At La Grange the Citizens have given a lot and $200 in specie to build. The Freedmen have raised $80 and will soon build a church and school house.

A log school house is now being built at Sweet Home a little village 10 miles west of this place arrangement have also been made here for the purpose of procuring a building for a school.

Have appointed colored Trustees at McKinney Collin Co to purchase ground and erect a school house

Trustees of the Cold people of this vicinity have bought ground and are now building a house for church and school purposes. The house 30 x 50 is now up the window frames and flooring are on the ground ask for an appropriation of $300 to complete it.

Sherman May 31 1867

Freedman have bought a lot and have timber out to erect a school house at Sherman. At McKinney have bought a lot and are preparing to build a school house in this place.

Huntsville May 31 1867

Freedmen have now collected $158.00 in specie $30 of which they have purchased a lot with the rest invested in lumber. About $200 more would be sufficient to erect the building. States he now negotiating with parties to advance the money and commence the building

On Johnson plantation a school is wanted at present no building to be had Mr Johnson with the aid the Bureau proposes to give ($100) will build a school house. On Hollands plantation a school is needed & Mr H will give lumber & lot for the building. At Planterville lumber is being prepared for a house Another school is wanted
