Dear Dr. Schilling:

It was pleasant to receive your note of October 28th and to read that you too have had the same intention and that you would try to induce Mr. Mathey to write a more detailed article on the early WATTEAU.

I feel however, as I took the liberty of expressing such views to you earlier, that if it could be on the small panels representing actors and musicians altogether it would fill a gap - and open the eyes of the public-at-large to certain problems that they are not cognizant of.

You have been so kind and have given so much of your time and attention in this whole matter that I feel I would be importuning you by writing any further on this particular topic in order to obtain more from Mr. Mathey than we already have.

Therefore, I will leave it entirely to you to see if and when such results can be obtained and as my different letters on the subject have been so detailed - there is no need for me to repeat my suggestions and propositions.-

Be this as it may, I am much looking forward to calling on you when I shall be again in London.

Yours very sincerely,

Germain Seligman
