Runway 25L
200 feet wide, 11,400 feet long; CPA Runway 25L

*Estimated commissioning date CY 1970

*1. The completion of Runway 24R will be delayed until June 1969. After completion of 24R, the installation of touchdown zone and centerline lights will commence on 25L (June or July 1969) and is scheduled for completion in April or May 1970. The region estimates that Category II minimums for 25L will not be published until the summer of 1970. During the shutdown of Runway 25L, work accomplished will include reinforcement of the Sepulveda Boulevard underpass, repaving portions of the runway, construction of bypass taxiways, remodeling of the approach light system, and installation of in-runway lights.

2. ALS modifications to Runway 25L required.

3. The permanent glide slope installation on Runway 25L commissioned Category I only; unable to meet Category II criteria at this time. Additional engineering and evaluation presently being programmed

4. Inner marker shipped during October 1967.

Anchorage, Alaska

Runway 6
200 feet wide; 10,600 feet long

*Estimated commissioning date CY 1970

1. Due to excessive gradient on the approach end of Runway 6, the State is considering means of providing Category II operation, which tentatively includes the construction of a new runway. Because of the uncertainty as to the future role of Runway 6, the Region has (1) deferred action on approved F&E projects (inner marker and second RVR), and (2) withheld action on a proposal for the installation of in-runway lighting on Runway 6.
