Attachment 1 - 5

1. Following completion of Runway 4L, presently under construction, Runway 4R is to be extended 1200 feet on the approach end and 1500 feet on the take-off end. Runway extensions will require modernization to the approach lights and relocation of the localizer. V-ring antennas programmed for delivery January 1969. These modifications to be accomplished under reimbursable agreement.

2. Approach RVR installed; however, it may be necessary to relocate transmissometer with the glide slope relocation. Rollout end RVR requires baseline reduction to 250 feet and modification to computer. Delivery of modification kit estimated during June 1968.

3. FAAP funding for in-runway lighting not yet requested.

*4. Glide slope will require relocation to reduce threshold crossing height following completion of runway extension. Capture Effect Glide Slope programmed for delivery January 1969 should it be required.

5. Inner marker equipment shipped to the Depot.

6. Continuous power, a 550 KW central plant will be installed when funding becomes available.

7. Continuous power project for owner facilities. Port of New York Authority has FY 1967 FAAP project under grant.

Runway 10L
150 feet wide; 10,500 feet long; CPA Runway 10L

Commissioned October 1965 - 1600 RVR day, 1200 RVR night. Air Carrier Category II authorization rescinded until further notice. Estimated restoration of Category II minimums FY 1971.

*1. A radio theodolite flight check, conducted on October 12, 1967, revealed that the glide slope did not conform to Category I or II performance standards. The facility was shut down on October 30, 1967. Facility rework has failed to improve it to Category II performance; therefore, it was restored to Category I operation on January 28, 1968. An engineering study will be performed to determine facility needs to restore it to Category II; completion of the study expected May 1, 1968. Air Carrier authorization was rescinded on January 19, 1968, until further notice.

2. FAA Form 8260-5 will be published when satisfactory facility performance is attained.

3. Critical area markings required. Sponsor will be requested to accomplish same.
