Commissioned October 6, 1967, for 150' DH, 1600 RVR day & night (see note #1)

Los Angeles, California

Runway 25L
200 feet wide; 11,400 feet long; CPA Runway 25L 

Estimated commissioning date CY 1970

1. The completion of Runway 24R will be delayed until June 1969. After the completion of 24R, the installation of touchdown zone and centerline lights will commence on 25L (June or July 1969) and is scheduled for completion in April or May 1970. The region estimates that Category II minimums for 25L will not be published until the Summer of 1970. During the shut down of Runway 25L, work accomplished will include reinforcement of the Sepulveda Boulevard underpass, repaving portions of the runway, construction of bypass taxiways, remodeling of the approach light system, and installation of in-runway lights.

2. ALS modifications to Runway 25L required.

3. The permanent glide slope installation on Runway 25L commissioned CAT I only; unable to meet Category II criteria at this time. Additional engineering and evaluation presently being programmed.

4. Inner marker equipment received; installation date has not been determined. 

5. Continuous power project completed.
