San Francisco & Oakland Helicopter Airlines, Inc. 2. 

"Our turbocopters", Bagan said, "And the schedule we will begin to fly tomorrow, are both designed to give our passengers the maximum in modern transportation. We are confident that the people of the Bay Area are anxious to receive this service, and that they will demonstrate their support." 

The fares will be comparable to or less than taxi rates, with the trips to be flown at a fraction of the time required by surface transportation. The hop from San Francisco International Airport to downtown Oakland will take eight minutes and cost $7.50. Downtown San Francisco to downtown Oakland will be flown in five minutes at a cost of $6.50, and the fare from Oakland downtown to the Oakland Airport is $4.00. 

"The support we have received from many fine people in Oakland and San Francisco is enabling us to open this service", Mr. Bagan said. "The line will start on a non-subsidy basis. The Bay Area, which is ideally suited to helicopter transportation, has the potential to support a scheduled helicopter service on a self-sufficient basis. The helicopter airlines are experiencing an explosive growth. We are convinced that these new aircraft -- with their turbine quiet, unsurpassed riding comfort, and 100-mile-an-hour speed -- will become the standard form of transportation from our major airports to surrounding communities."
