Lumberton Aug 18th 1865

This indenture made and entered with this 18th day of Aug 1865 between-- William B. Thompson of Robeson Co. of the one part and Jerry Thompson, Benjamin Thompson, Alex Mitchel for his wife Hellen all of said county of the other part, witnesseth that for and in consideration of the following sums to be paid by the said W.B. Thompson to the said Jerry, Ben, and Alex on behalf of his wife Hellen respectively. to wit to Jerry thirty six bushels of corn for the year 1865 with the customary taking of food and clothing and ordinary medical attendances, to Benjamin thirty bushels of corn with the customary rations of food and clothing with necessary medical attendance into the close of the present year. And to Alex food and clothing with ordinary medical attendance for his wife and child until the end of the present year. They, Jerry, Ben and Alex for his wife Hellen binding and obliging themselves to serve the said W.B. Thompson for the above period -- faithfully and efficiently obeying all lawful orders from him as in times past.
