Office of Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned lands for Robeson Co, Lumberton Aug 28th, 1865

This indenture made and entered into this 28th day of August 1865, between Joseph Thompson Planter of Robeson Co of the one part & Frank Thompson Lenun Thompson, Peter Thompson, Council Thompson, Washington Thompson, Andrew Thompson freedmen of the above county witnesseth that for and in consideration of the said Joseph Thompson paying to the above mentioned freedmen, [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough] at the following dates to Frank, 15 bushels of corn 1 cut pork, 10 bushels of Potatoes, 5 gall Molasses, Lenun who leaves immediately to receive $18.00 worth of provision, corn, pork, potatoes, & at cashrates, Peter 15 bush corn 1 cut Pork 10 bush Potatoes & 5 gall molasses, commit the same as the above, Washington the same rate as the above, Andrew the same as the above, [[Newman?]] who leaves immediately 16 bushels of corn and this aforesaid freedman as [[therein]] must with the exception of Lenun and Newman who leave immediately, and receive as full compensation for their labor this April last
