This agreement made and entered into this 1st day of September 1865 between J. B. Brown of Robeson Co of the one part and Jerry Pitman a colored Freedman of said Co. of the other part, Witnesst {[the?]] the above named [[crossed out]] Jerry Pitman [[/crossed out]] J B Brown agrees to give the above named Jerry Pitman for his labor from the 27th of April to the present time. September 1st 1865 (Twenty bushels of corn) and the said Jerry Pitman agrees to Receive this Twenty bushels of Corn as pay inful of all demands to this date. and the said J. B. Brown further agrees to let the said Jerry Pitman have the crop which he made on the said Browns plantation
