Head Quarters Sub District of Robeson
Lumberton Sept 22nd 1865

This Indenture made and entered into on the 22nd day of Sept AD 1865 between Lemuel Thompson of the county of Robeson of the one part and the undersigned Freed Laborers of the second part witnesseth that the said Lemuel Thompson agrees to pay the said Laborers the following rates till the 1st day of Jany AD 1866. To Isaac for his wife Margaret - five dollars in current money. To Sampson for his wife Dora the same. Owen Barnes twenty bushels of corn, To Lias for his wife Harriet her victuals and clothes. To Alfred for his family ten dollars victuals and clothes and a calico dress. They on their part agree to serve him faithfully obey all his lawful commands as in times past they to receive the usual rations of food clothing and ordinary Medical Attendance
