Office of Bureau of Refugees Freedman &c
For Robeson Co Lumberton Sept 28th 1865

This Indenture made and entered into this 28th day of Sept 1865 between. D M McCormic of the one part and Samuel Sellers of the other part witnessed that the said McCormic agrees to pay the said Samuel 20 bushels of corn and ten bushels of potatoes with the usual rations of food clothing and ordinary medical attendance until the 1st day of Jany 1866. Samuel is to serve him with as much respect as in times past to work the hours per day to render true and faithful service until the end of the year.
