This agreement entered into on the 22nd day of January 1866 between Hugh Thompson a citazin of Robison County NC on the one part and Wright Thompson freedman on the other. Hugh Thompson agrees to give Wright Thompson for his service ten months $22. in current money  8 Bushells of corn 100lbs of bacon also to furnish load and cultivate six thousand corn hills and 1/4 of an acre in potatoes, the labor commencing at the presant date (Jan 22 1866). The above Wright Thompson argues to perform good and faithfull labor at any thing that he may be required to do common to the farm. He agrees to be obedient and respectful in his behavior and not to absent himself during the six days of labor without permision. He agrees to rise early and report for directly in time to assist in feeding the stock. He further agrees that all time lost by sickness or other wise not agreed to that proper deduction be made from the above wages. He further agrees that any failure on his part to comply with their contract will be a forfeiture of his wage.
