This indenture, made and entered into on The second day of February 1866 between B.G. Rowland of the county of Robeson and state of North Carolina of the first part and the undersigned freed laborer of the second part.

Witnesseth, that the said laborer has agreed to work for the said B.G. Rowland on the farm in Robeson County for the sum of fifty dollars from this date to the 31st day of December 1866. (The money to be paid on Christmas day) to do all kinds of labor common to such farms - to work the usual time on such farms - to do the work faithfully, and be respectful in deportment and I further agreed that if I do not work until the end of the year to forfeit the wages for the time I have worked - and I further agree to furnish my own clothing and pay my own Doctors bills.

The said Rowland agrees to furnish the said laborers with provisions for herself for the year.
