Dear Mr. Smith:
I am indeed sorry that I go so tied up last Friday that I was unable to reach you earlier as I had hoped to, and, of course, am terribly sorry that I did not get a chance to see you at all as there were one or two things I would have liked to talk over with you.
Of a different nature entirely, however, is the fact that when I was showing certain photographs to Francis Taylor, he suggested that I might show you the enclosed photograph of a small Ingres drawing which we have and which is very moderately priced at $850. As you can see from the photograph, it is a very fine early one from the very best period.
Should you be interested in it, I would of course, be very pleased to send it up to you on approval. On the other hand, should you be coming to New York, I would very much appreciate your stopping in here for a few minutes.
Looking forward very much to the pleasure of hearing from you,
Believe me to be
Yours very sincerely,
(Robert M. Levy)
