Dear Sirs,

I thank you for your letter of the 22nd ult., contents of which have been duly noted.

As I have already informed you I had calculated on the following prices of the goods forwarded, viz:

Console table, signed Riesener For Sale on Commission $15.000 If bought outright $10.000
Writing table, signed Beneman For Sale on Commission $4.000 If bought outright $3.000

Chest of drawers For Sale on Commission $2.000 If bought outright $1.500
Lantern clock, sign. W, Ellicot For Sale on Commission $3.000 If bought outright $2.000
Lantern clock, sign.Amond Sneby, Totem For Sale on Commission $1.500 If bought outright $1.000
Owing to the devaluation of the Danish currency I am, however, now able to offer you the parcel - whole or partly - on commission at the same prices as were hitherto claimed for the goods when bought outright.

If you should be interested in taking over the whole parcel outright I am willing to sell same to you at the price of $18.000,-.

As to the tapestry - it is really a tapestry, not a rug - I can give you the following details, viz:
"One gobelin 765 x 470 cm. Round central field with music ornaments yellowish brown, surrounded by garland, in natural colours. Outside the central field great acanthus, swand and flowers on reddish-brown ground. Border with empire ornaments in yellowish brown on green ground. Aubusson.
