My dear Friends:
As I cabled you this morning not to do anything for this time being with STANG, I suppose nothing further has been done about the GAUGUIN.

If you should receive a cable from me "Proceed with Stang" you will know that it means to go ahead with this Gauguin matter. As Stang is lending this picture to the London Exhibition and as it was shown at the Colonial Exhibition, I gather that the Committee of the "Arts Décoratifs" knows where this man is stopping - and he might be, for all we know, in Paris.
