New - Orleans - April 11th 1864

  Resp.y referred to Mr Tucker, of the Board of Education, I saw Captn. Noyes and his wife when at Ship Island and they are a nice young couple.  He is undoubtedly a reliable energetic man and she shows a great deal of spirit by staying with him on Ship Island, summer and winter,.  Last summer she taken sick and nearly died.  I should be happy to heat they had got a position [[crossed out]] [[?]] [[crossed out]] of usefulness in helping carry out the Educational order and remain -
