Please inform me what your orders to your agents are in relation to such cases. And will you be kind enough to give directions to them to occupy no more of our public school houses, unless it be in localities where no white schools are wanted, and then by the consent of the parish public school directors. In establishing our different schools there need be no clashing of interests, I think.
I am a true friend of the colored people and especially of their schools. But I must insist that they shall not crowd out our white children from the school houses which their parents have provided for their education.
