To the  Provost Marshal
of Parish Lafourche

Sir - Having selected the buildings described below, for the use of the Colored Schools, I respectfully request that you will take possession of them, at your earliest convenience, so that the schools may be put into immediate operation.

First, a small building on the plantation of V. Vicnair, about four miles above Thibodaux, on the left bank of Bayou Lafourche. It stands on the south side of the 
dwilling-house & near a land running from the road.

Second, the buildings on the plantation about a mile below Thibodaux, called Arcadia, & claimed to belong to Maj. Nelson.

Third, A building formerly used as a store-house, directly below the Railroad, when it crosses Bayou Lafourche, standing on the right bank. These buildings are all vacant or only in unimportant & partial use.
