cart the refuse a great distance. On Saturday I shall show the various privies to a colored Nightman who has 3 carts. I shall take a note of the cost for cleaning each privy; and before he begins work, I shall take him down to the Board, with the Estimated cost to submit the matter to your judgement. I am perfectly exhausted with excessive labor this last month and the last week especially. I shall be able to crawl through a few schools to inspect them today, but several will be omitted this  [[illegible]] Luckily my Extra work finishes tomorrow, and I shall be able next week to resume exclusively, I hope, my usual work of inspection. I shall call on you today to take your instructions for the speedy furnishing of the stove - articles.
