Dear Sir, 
Your letter of the 7th inst came today. We enclose duplicate bill of Dec 3rd. In your letter you say you rec'd 4731 spellers while the bill says 4750 - As the bill says but 3975 Prim Arithc and your letter says 3994, there being 19 difference in both cases we presume you have gotten some of them mixed. The no of books is the same as you will see thus. Your statement 4731 spellers + 3994 arith = 8725  Our bill 4750 spellers + 3975 arith = 8725  In regard to the slates the bill says you had 204 doz. & your statement but about 194 doz. Our salesman is pretty sure the 204 doz was sent. We will leave this as it is untill we hear from you again and if there is any deficiency we shall be pleased to rectify it. We are pleased to learn the pen & pencil suits & hope you may live to wield it in mighty defence of life & liberty
