Home Farm Jan 20th 1865.

Lieut Wheelock

Sir,

Your note of the 12th [[?]] is received. I was somewhat pained to find from the contents, that you misunderstood me. I felt no annoyance at any want of due respect from yourself, or other members of the Board, nor am I in the least "fastidious" in regard to matters of "etiquette" except when the departure there from affects the welfare of others. The idea that I wished to convey was this, that I know what books are required.

Very Resptly
Mrs Mary, Eliza, Wardell.
