My dear Mrs. Vogel:

I thank you for your kind letter of December 16th., and am sorry not to be able to take a page from you, as I have already taken one from one of your friends and have likewise been asked by another one.

I do not think it would be right for us to take too much space in your program! 

I hope you won't mind my having answered Mrs. Greenhut's letter in preference to yours - it just so happened that I got it a few days ago. 

Hoping that there will soon be an opportunity of seeing you again,
