U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has advertised for bids to repair the north channel pier, entrance to the bay. Plan to put a steel sheet bulkhead around existing pier, fill with stone and cap with concrete.

The person who found a silk purse in a downtown store recently may keep the purse and other contents if he'll please return the grey shell glasses contained in the purse. They belong to a visitor from out of town, who needs them badly. They may be returned to 907 E. 28th st., or the finder may call 1-5156 and they'll be picked up.

An invitational exhibit, it includes work by such nationally famous artists at Louis Bouche, Adolph Dehn, Winslow Homer and Waldo Pierce. The show is open until Sept. 20 . . .
