a tower of science ...

The first view many people will have as they enter World Science Center will be the main colonnade in the Center's office building. To other visitors the first view will be the vast parking area directly beneath the Center. Visitors will pause to study frescos, telling the history of scientific achievement. They will walk past various educational scientific displays to the battery of elevators which will carry them up to the offices of numerous scientific organizations and institutions.

The 30-story office tower and the adjoining auditorium building are specially designed to meet the particular, specific needs of science for years to come, whether such needs are those of a neophyte society or those of a large, national scientific or technical organization.

In addition to having offices within the metal and glass tower of World Science Center's office building, these scientific organizations will be able to use the Center's auditoria and broadcasting facilities, its restaurant, and its libraries. Furthermore, such groups could make use of the Center's printing, addressing and mailing facilities.

The concentration of science-related organizations in one building will greatly improve the flow of valuable scientific information from laboratories into useful application for the public good. The Academy will also utilize the office tower for its headquarters. With these expanded facilities will come an even more effective Academy program of significance to scientists, industry and people everywhere.
