Stoughton Nov 9th, 1947

Dear Doris

Is is cool but sunny down to 40° this morning after a windy day & night.  The wind blew my leaves a great many of them down street.  I was glad to see them going.  I was afraid of fire.  Doris didn't come out Mrs. Barry made her favorite pudding & sent her a letter the last of the week.  Bill is coming out to night he called up to tell us he had been sick so hadn't been able to work for a long time.  Low blood pressure.  Very dangerous much more so than the high blood pressure for it affects the heart.  He will fix our rocking chair, put a screw into the rocker, where I drove a nail to hold it till Bill came to fix it.  He is very good to fix our things for us when he comes out & we should miss him a lot.  He drove over Friday on his way home from Brockton to see us.  He takes to us & will do anything he knows how if he takes to you.  I like him he always tells me when its time to go to bed so I don't have to sit up for him after my bedtime.  I hope you are having a good times going around in the new car.  Was it pleasant that day so you could go to the beach?  Sid wanted one more day to go & hope he had it.  I think Anna Lamb made her last effort so you could get that bedstead.  She certainly looked out for it.  I told the Cohennos first before
