November 4th 1947 Dear Doris This is a cold and cloudy day no rain yet we need rain there are so many dry leaves lying around I am afraid of fires. Not enough so far to wet down the ground say nothing of its coming into the cellar which is dry as it can be. I have been busy most all day sewing on the cloth you sent up. A man came here this morning to buy some furniture but we sent him off. I wonder if Anna Lamb pictures & household good will be put up for sale. Ma
