she takes to her. when she visited Berts family she said she had hard work to get enough to eat. so had to go outside to buy food. the wife dont like to cook enough to get their meals. Alice her mother went there once to visit them & so complained the same so she took her bag & baggage and left. I never liked the wifes appearance but the daughter has grown nice looking since her childhoods days. But seems to think a lot of me for some reason or other. too bad he got into the Methodest faith through the Herricks. he was the only one of his family who wanted an education & was the brightest. 

There is not much to write about as I dont go or see many folks. I am glad you are able to travel to the beaches & see so many people. I enjoyed having Amy come over to visit us. she is looking very thin but has lots to contend with. I spoke of the blackboard that we used to have in the kitchen, when you were young. And right away she remembered drawing Robert Levitts picture on it & his screaming when he saw it. I always remembered little Russell he was a darling. Well this morning I got a card from Lena & will send it along to you. now I hope to see you soon & hope you get home safe. love Ma
