The family over across are happy. the children are good natured & their father Sunday morning got up & went fishing at four o'clock in the morning. he caught two very large ones & they had them for Sunday dinner. he gets tired & works hard, seems a very nice man. he has opened a store on Wyman St. she went down two days to help him get started. they are a very united couple. she & her four children came came over here & Mrs Barry took the children & danced with them & sung. they went whirling around on the porch, which pleased the children so much the little boy who is two years old said do some more & then he said kiss me. he is a little hogere [[?]] but we like him. & one little girl around here is very pretty, she has curly hair, they hang in curls down her back, the others are nothing very pretty, of dark complection

It is most dark up here in the front chamber & hot. we dread the nights. but it will be cool tomorrow so our father [[?]] says.

Mrs. Barry went to Brockton & brought home a dozen of doughnuts for 10 cents & some cheese they were not bad, the doughnuts, we had them for our supper & were certainly worth more than 10 cents. I liked them. our meat, corned beef has lasted most two weeks, it was very tender & nice, but fish was little old mackerel. It is much cooler this morning, the change came during the night, but no showers thanks be. Ma
