Stoughton May 28th 1947
Dear Doris
It is a warm cloudy day a heavy shower around 6'Oclock this morning & a promise of more showers during the day. Yesterday was an ideal day it went up to over 80 degrees during the day & was so warm I could sit out on the porch most of the afternoon. I went down cellar & found that the fairy lily as started so brought it up & watered it there now it will go ahead & probably be in bloom when you come up - no trouble to bring it up as I rested it on the steps & when it reached the top I rooled [[rolled]] it down hill then turned it up where it could get the most sun. Its the bringing it back where I wouldn't want to attempt it as it would have to be carried all the way that would be too heavy.
Estell Perkins husband broke his leg some time ago & we heard Irma Wayland took them for a long ride to Providence. It was very good in Irma she & her father always liked Estell & when they liked any body they were ready to do
