Stoughton May 25th 1947
Dear Doris
Its hall way pleasant but predictions of showers along the coast, during the day, 60 degrees early this morning where in yesterday it was 80 degrees most of the day. then wind to the easward when a shower went around & brought cooler weather sometimes during the night. I hope the sun stays out during the day.
Everything is growing even the grass the boy will come during the week to mow it. he said so that will be one thing I wont have to worry about if he comes as he said he would.
Doris has enough of her school work to do but the outdoor exercise would be a change & guess she is able to do it no doubt. it will seem good to you both to have her down home she is all you have got & I know just how you both feel. its too bad Miss Atwood died it may be some time to get any body to fill her place.
People are going to church I cant make it seem that right that the Jowards across the way are Catholics they seem so indifferent to her death she had been in poor health for a long time with heart trouble, that is why she used to sit out on her piazza & on the wall so much. her daughter was married the older one but the two younger ones
