Dear Doris

We are having mild weather, a bright moon last evening but the wind brought us April showers this morning. one good thing about the rain it may prevent so many fires we have them most every day so many leaves around I fear them.

Our forcythias [[forsythias]] are in their prime maples blossomed out lilacs just budding my red bud tree is in bloom. & daffodils just in their prime I went out yesterday to see if I could find that old red peony you transplanted last summer I guess its still alive but couldn't make it out there were so many others coming up. I remember Harold Capen picking my peony blossoms for decoration he took most all the blossoms so I felt awful sorry. I had all colors that year I want they pretty. we saw some children over in our backyard where our daffy & jonquills [[jonquils]] are in bloom I guess they would have picked them if Mrs Barry hadn't told them not to touch them I have them all around
