Stoughton March 30th. 1947

Dear Doris

We are having very sunny days though now was prophesied it was rain last night instead. the temerature this morning was in the 30ies & now at noon has grown little warmer 40°. the wind still blows. hope this month it blows out. I am sick of this everlasting windy weather but glad it wasn't snow.

She has been to church today they had an interesting sermon, for a wonder & tomorrow they have chosen as they day to see Mr Bradner off. They intend to make him a nice present & have a supper afterwards as a send off. he is as glad to leave as they are to have him. but their daughter is sorry to go & leave her school where she goes to college. they go west, no one likes him in church & she was not meant for a minister wife. she has cancer & looks terrible.

Laura said she heard over the radio this morning that Mr Swanson had won sixteen hundred dollars at the races. he is Trines husband & works for the support of the family. while all he does is to lay drunk from morning till night. she works for Laura. so when she told her this
