Stoughton March 27th 1947

Dear Doris,

This is our first pleasant day this week between gales of wind nights and days pouring rains we have fared bad. we havn't had snow so we are pretty well satisfied. we needed the rain to bring vegetation forward & to prevent fires. lots of careless grass fires so far.

I have been at work on those nighties you sent this week quite busy. my stitching has bothered me some but at last with Mrs Barrys help, have managed to get it much better. little things bother me at my age.

Doris will be with you soon. I hope you have a good visit. she seems to be getting acqainted with folks at school & going to dances its all right if she dont over do it & get too worn out between that & her hard studies.

We are fortunate in getting plenty of meat & fish to eat. we extend it as well as possible. never throw away anything, these hard times.
