a snow storm about this time but this year it came a little later. you didnt get my Sunday letter as usual. the Postman was careless & shoved it inside when he put my letters in the slot. so then it went the next day.

I was very glad to see the Ballantines & stayed up. big brother seemed very glad to see me also. I think he is going to get out of his Brotherhood & change his vocation. the family are much pleased with their little place over to the Aunts house. she has promised to make over her belongings to Addie & Gertrude. they are satisfied to live there with her. guess she lived there all alone, as long as she cared to.

I dont know about Eliot Curtis family my fathers middle name was Curtis. he was cousin to Sam, Eliots father. there were two daughters & Albert Perry Curtis. my father thought most of Eliot. Sam married his wife who taught school in our old neighborhood & my mother boarded her. thats how she came acquainted with Sam. brother Horace was only three years old. I hope you are not freezing in the your unheated rooms. Doris was lucky not to come out such wintry weather. but will come probably this week end. it seems good sitting up in this warm front chamber. love Ma.
