Dear Doris

I woke up early this morning to see a little new moon looking up in the sky in the east. today it clouded over & now its shining & around 80° but it may be cooler towards night.

Doris came out here Friday afternoon to get her beautiful fall dress & said she was going to a dance. I guess with that same fellow. & we expect her out Saturday night. again to stay over Sunday.

I dont expect any party on my birthday. which will be the middle of next week. Elizabeth Southworth called on us Friday afternoon I think she is growing old in looks & is deaf. otherwise she seems the same & seems happy & pleased to see us. Gladys was the same as ever she hasn't many places to go to visit & spends her time with the friend she lives with she ought to marry & have a home of her own. guess she is too particular & old-maidish.

Mrs Barry has just received a box of oranges from Florida sent her by her Cousin Charles Hutchins
