Dear Doris. 

Another change in weather after our warm spell which took away our icy going. yesterday was an ideal day after a sudden thunder shower, the lightning was very near. then after that, snow flakes came down & wind changed & blew tremendously all night. windows rattled & the Canada storm hit us hard. this morning the ground was white with snow flakes, & we had 0 degree temperature again. one of our coldest mornings. thank goodness, the sun shines good and warm, up in the front chamber, where I am writing my letter. 

Bill Schillings came Sunday and Monday & cleaned out the kitchen stove & emptied the funnel. he id a good job. now he is coming again to bring his glue part & fix my furniture. he has got a strap around the arm of my kitchen chair. now he says dont touch it till I bring over my glue and fix it. he told us over the telephone Monday to dump our fire, as he was coming around two O'clock to fix our stove. he got that done & got home again just before it began to rain. it poured the rest of the day & since then we have had all kinds of weather. he is a funny
