hope you dont have our icy going the ice melts today & makes it worse  she was glad to get home & said it was terrible down near the church.  its growing colder the wind has changed & going down to freezing tonight. the radio says. hope it dont snow.

Dear Doris

It is still very icy going but will thaw some today for its warmer in the 30ies it seems good to have it above freezing outside.

Bill was here last nite and sanded our front walk & will come again today. & wants me to sit up so he can see me. he has not been here since last June & was very much pleased & showed more affection than we ever knew him to before. he is awful good where he takes. that Cote the murdered man, used to live in Holbrook & Bill used to work for him. but it was very hard to get money from him. & he still owes Bill $40. he never payed him. his reputation was such that he finally left & went to Brockton to live & hers was about as bad. she was always a jealous thing & they never got along together. she may have done the murder & layed it on to Steele. I wouldn't be surprised time may tell.

She has gone to church this morning I hope its been sanded down to the Church the roads are shining with ice. I havent dared to step my foot out for over two weeks & shall be glad when the ice is off the ground.  I saw the woman who lives down in
