Dear Doris

I got your letter today. I will answer it this afternoon, as I am here with nothing else to do. it has cleared from last nigs [[nights]]down pour. We are having lots of rains the last of this month due to the western tornado we got our down pour last night I presume.

Mrs Barry has gone to Mrs Whites to play cards with the crowd. She lives in West Bridgwater [[Bridgewater]] a very wealthy woman. She came here to play cards not long ago. Last week she sent me two lovely plants, one came from the South Florida I believe she said, so I wrote her a note of thanks, sent it to her today. We tried to call on her at her home in West Bridgwater [[Bridgewater]] but she had gone, the house was all locked up. Laura took us over there to ride one near their big residence
