Dear Doris

Today its sunny & cold, after two days of cloudy weather. we had a thunder shower yesterday afternoon, which poured rain but cleared in a little while & the bright moon came out & shone all night. the wind was terrible. it settle in the North west which made freezing weather. I got nervous so didn't sleep much 'till most morning. Mrs Barry took up her hot water bottle and still felt cold.

The little stove is a great comfort & saves on the oil a lot. during the evening we put on the fire but burn mostly cinders. its a great heater.

We have had to carry our rubbish & pack it away down cellar, as they have stopped coming after it, the first Monday in the month. I hope they come before the winter ends, for it seems good to get rid of so much stuff.

Pupello hasn't given up the idea of selling his place. he told us he had advertised it for sale in three different papers & it has cost him twelve dollars a paper & he hasn't heard from any one yet. all his papers blow over here. the backyard is a sight. eventually he may be lucky enough to sell, and get out of town guess they want to bad enough.
