ARTICLE III

Membership

Section 1. Any person of Indian [[crossed out]] or Indian and White [[/crossed out]] ancest[[crossed out]]e[[/crossed out]]ry is eligible to membership in this Federation: Provided, That local affiliates shall have the right to [[crossed out]] further limit [[/crossed out] [[?]] upon additional limitations on membership.

Section 2. Any person may be elected by a Convention to honorary membership in the [[crossed out]] National [[/crossed out]] Federation, and local affiliates may elect to honorary membership [[crossed out]] . [[/crossed out]] and person any person approved by the Executive Council of the [[crossed out]] National [[/crossed out]] Federation [[crossed out]] of Descendants of First Americans: [[/crossed out]] Provided, That such honorary membership must be renewed at each convention and shall carry with it no right to vote or hold office in the Federation or any affiliate [[crossed out]] of this Federation: Provided Further, That such honorary membership must be renewed at each convention. Section 3. Spouses of members of this Federation are eligible for [[crossed out]] such [[/crossed out]] associate membership without payment of initiation fee. No per capita tax shall be levied upon an affiliate for any such associate member, but, [[crossed out]] notwithstanding any other provision of this Constitution, [[/crossed out]] such members shall pay dues amounting to $______ per annum which shall accrue to the [[crossed out]] National [[/crossed out]] Federation [[crossed out]] and be applied to defraying the cost of the magazines furnished such members.
